This e-community is for United States disability community stakeholders to discuss news, public policy, events, opinions, needs, product and service reviews, desires, goals, objectives, and dreams. Discussions may relate, but are not limited to, to the following:

  • Stakeholders: individuals experiencing disability, friends, family, advocates, direct support professionals, and members of local communities.
  • Needs: physiological, safety, security, acceptance, belongingness, love, and esteem needs -- participants may wish to discuss experiences toward identifying and satisfying these needs, goals, objectives, and dreams.
  • Products and services: economic, coordination, assistive technology, acute medical care, activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, transportation, housing, educational, vocational, social, and recreational supports -- participants may wish to discuss experiences using these products and services.
  • Objectives: ease of access, accurate delivery, competent delivery, interpersonal satisfaction, positive outcomes, affordable costs, and more knowledgeable consumers -- participants may wish to discuss experiences as to whether or not they believe these objectives have been demonstrated during their experiences toward satisfying their needs using various products and services.

This e-community's membership is available to everyone, and posts are unmoderated. This e-community supports and promotes freedom of speech and expression. However, as in any community, common courtesy and respect are required. Users and posts reported as inappropriate will be examined. Material that appears to be obviously discourteous or disrespectful (e.g. verbal abuse, emotional abuse, physiological abuse, or any other forms of abuse) will be edited or removed and the associated user will be notified. Users whom repeatedly demonstrate obviously discourteous or disrespectful behavior will be banned.

Community Etiquette

  • Please ensure your post relates to news, public policy, events, opinions, needs, products and services, and objectives related to the United States disability community.
  • Please do not post advertisements for products, services, or other communities unless you believe they are specifically relevant to the United States disability community.
  • Please use short and descriptive subjects.
  • Please place long entries (i.e. anything more than one or two paragraphs or requires scrolling) or multiple pictures behind an < lj-cut >.
